Alejandro García-Huidobro is a commercial engineer, graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. At the age of 26 he founded Prize SuperFruits, a company dedicated to the production, export and distribution of twelve fruit species worldwide. An important part of its exports comes from its own production in countries such as Chile, Peru, Mexico and China. It also has strategic alliances with producers in Georgia and Morocco, in addition to Chile, where it collaborates with more than 200 producers.

At the beginning, Prize focused on exporting kiwis, establishing a close collaboration with the New Zealand multinational Zespri. Subsequently, it diversified its fruit offer, positioning cherries as its main product. Currently, Prize SuperFruits has established itself as one of Chile’s leading cherry exporters.

Since 2016, Alejandro has led a diversification process, betting heavily on the development of blueberries with differentiated genetics and own production, applying cutting-edge technologies. Thanks to this, he has achieved a solid positioning worldwide and a successful diversification in two key crops: cherries and blueberries.

Alejandro is recognized for his strategic vision, his ability to identify opportunities and take risks, as well as his focus on quality and efficiency, attributes that have been fundamental to the success of Prize SuperFruits.

Finally, he has established himself as a visionary leader in the international fruit industry, driving not only the growth of Prize SuperFruits, but also actively contributing to the development of the sector.

Hernán Garcés Echeverría is one of the benchmarks in the fruit industry, due to his global leadership in the cherry market. Garces Fruit, the company he presides today, is the largest cherry exporter in the world and, from its fields and plants -located in the central zone of Chile-, has developed a business that today takes the national fruit to more than 30 countries.

Son of growers Hernán Garcés Vial and Margarita Echeverría, he was interested in cherries from an early age and bet on this fruit, which is very difficult to grow. During the 1980s, the industry faced great challenges, mainly due to the fragility of this fruit and its rapid post-harvest deterioration.

Together with a team, Hernán decided to transform cherry production by constantly innovating in its development. He introduced a new packing system, imported the first mechanical machine for cherries to Chile and implemented modified atmosphere bags, with which they were able to send the first shipment of these fruits to Taiwan.

In 2007, thanks to the free trade agreement between Chile and China, the ceramics industry was completely transformed. Chinese demand grew from 4,000 tons in 2007 to 64,000 tons in the 2024-2025 season.

In addition to cherries, Garces Fruit produces kiwis, nectarines, peaches and plums, and exports to more than 30 countries. In China they are present in 50 markets in 17 provinces, and have their own sales channels on TikTok and WeChat. Today it is the largest exporter of cherries in the world and the main producer in Chile.

Its history reflects that, with passion, vision, innovation, courage and perseverance, it is possible to challenge and transform an industry. That spirit made him worthy of the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award given annually by EY and El Mercurio, a recognition that will lead him to represent Chile next June in a grand final in Monte Carlo.

Iván Marambio is a lawyer graduated from Universidad Diego Portales, who has dedicated a large part of his professional career to the Chilean fruit sector. His career in this industry began in 2000, when he joined Dole Chile S.A. as an executive.

During his time at Dole Chile S.A., Mr. Marambio assumed leadership roles in the legal areas, not only for Chile, but also for Latin America and South Africa. His focus was on sustainability issues and fresh fruit exports, two aspects crucial to the success and reputation of the Chilean fruit industry internationally.

His experience and expertise led him to become a member of the Board of Directors of ASOEX (now Fruits from Chile) since 2014, a trade association that brings together Chile’s fruit exporters. In 2022, Mr. Marambio assumed the presidency of Fruits from Chile, consolidating his position as a leader in the sector.

In addition to his role at Frutas de Chile, Iván Marambio also serves on the Board of Directors of Fundación Imagen de Chile, a public-private organization that seeks to promote Chile’s image abroad.
